Domestic abuse is when a family or household member commits any of the following acts against you:
- Physical harm
- Bodily injury
- Assault
- The fear that physical harm, bodily injury, or assault is about to happen to you
- Sexual conduct (of a criminal nature) whether the victim is a minor or an adult.1”

WCDVP Outreach Services Offered
Victims of domestic violence have access to ongoing support through the services offered at our outreach office where we provide
- Domestic violence support groups
- Parenting classes
- Crisis counseling
- Job search assistance
- Court advocacy
- Food, clothing, and other forms of assistance for victims of violent crime.
Our outreach office also helps with information and referrals for providers throughout the community. Throughout our years serving victims of domestic violence, we have found many are unaware of all the resources that are available to them within White County, Arkansas. Our outreach office acts as an information hub that connects survivors to providers.
Domestic Violence in Arkansas
- 40.8% of Arkansas women and 34.8% of Arkansas men experience intimate partner physical violence, intimate partner sexual violence and/or intimate partner stalking in their lifetimes.
- 453 victims in Arkansas were served by domestic violence shelters and programs in one day in 2019. 38 requests for services went unmet due to lack of resources.
- In 2017, Arkansas had the third highest rate in the United States of women murdered by men.
- In 2017, 56% of intimate partner homicides in Arkansas were committed with firearms
- As of December 31, 2019, Arkansas had submitted 3,766 misdemeanor domestic violence records and five active protective order records to the NICS Index.
